Swimwear manufacturer Jatzen Knitting Mills was founded in Portland, Oregon, in 1910 by John A. Zehntbauer, Carl C. Jantzen, and C.R. Zehntbauer. Originally called the Portland Knitting Mills, it changed its name to Jantzen Knitting Mills in 1916, adopting the "diving girl" trademark long associated with the company. It was acquired by Blue Bell in 1980, and Blue Bell was bought by VF Corporation in 1986. In 2002 Perry Ellis International purchased the Jantzen brand. From the descrip...
